The Beaufort Symphony Orchestra is excited to provide our second Summer Youth Program for free string lessons. The program is geared for students that have demonstrated promise in learning to play a string instrument. Fill out the form below to apply. June 3 is the deadline.
For the work to be successful for each student, it is important to understand and agree to the requirements of the program and to receive the support of the students' parent as follows:

- Summer lessons are ten one hour weekly sessions provided by a grant from the Beaufort Symphony Orchestra.
- Lessons are free.
- Attendance is mandatory to maintain a good standing and to progress through the program.
- Only four students are selected per lesson and additional students go to a waiting list. If a slot opens up it will be offered to student with the highest placement on the waiting list
- The students must be puntual, considerate of the instructor, and well behaved. All materials, instrument, music, shoulder rest, etc. must be brought to each lesson.
- Practice between lessons as specified by the instructor are required to maintain a good standing.
- If there is a conflict with any dates of lessons it is imperative for the form to be marked accordingly and reviewed with the instructor prior to the second lesson. (This form will be given once accepted into the program.)
- If a student finds they are no longer able to attend the must notify the instructor immediately to permit a waiting list student to attend.
